Sienna will be 20 months old at the end of September, and she is growing up at an exciting/surprising/heartbreaking pace. I know I keep saying this, but now she is REALLY like a little girl. (I am sure I will continue to say this on a regular basis. I apologize in advance.) Sienna has learned so many words in the past two months, I am having a hard time keeping up. Sometime of her words require translation or a lot of patience on her part, (as we stare at her with a confused look on our faces) but afterwards we usually figure it out. She learned most of her colors and she loves saying numbers between 1 and 10, but she gets them all out of order. She prefers Two and Ten - she says them over and over.
She is also starting to call family members by their names. Or some version of their names that she has made up...
Lauren is "Mom", "Mommy" or "Ma Ma"
Daniel is "Dad", "Daddy", or "Da Da"
(By the way, isn't it funny that she calls us Mom and Dad? She sounds like a teenager...)
Grandma is (also) "Mom"
Grandpa is "Pa Pa"
Dave is "Uncle"
Kerry is "KK"
Sienna seems really bright which is surprising considering who her parents are. But every once in awhile we find a little bit of evidence that she truly is ours. Sienna thinks her name is "You". She has always loved looking at photo albums, so whenever she was in a photo, we would say "It's you!" Therefore, she thinks that is her name. If you ask her what her name is, she will say "you" and point to herself.
You is just getting over a cold - here she is snuggling with her baby doll...
