Cranky Pants

Sienna has been a little moody the past few days. She wants SOOO badly to walk. Or crawl. Or something, but she hasn't figured out how to do either. Standing is her favorite and sometimes she likes standing up holding on to a chair or coffee table but she hasn't learned yet that she can't just let go whenever the heck she wants to. Most of the time I hold her in a standing position or I hold her hands and we "walk" around the room. She will sit for awhile and play with her toys, but after a little bit she wants to stand again so she pulls herself with her arms on her belly until she gets to my legs. She pulls herself up onto my lap and reaches up for me to pick her up. Then she makes herself stiff like a board which makes it impossible to put her in a sitting position. So we stand. Again.

If I don't help her stand, this is the result:

How can I say no to this little face? And these little feet?

I can't help it - she's the cutest.

Veggies!

Sienna is a pro at sitting by herself these days. She rarely falls over but usually it is for a good reason. For example, if her pacifier is within her reach if she falls towards it, then it is completely worth toppling over. But overall, she's pretty good at it.

She also had carrots for the first time the other day. It was funny because at first she didn't seem to mind it. But as time went on, her face became more distorted as she shuddered after each bite. We couldn't bring ourselves to let to eat the whole jar because of her cute little face. She had a little more today and she handled it a little better this time. I can't wait to give her fruit! Actually, I really want to give her cookies & cupcakes, but one thing at a time.

The Great Outdoors

We have had a great time enjoying the warm weather while we can! Last week we went to Great Falls Park with the Paganini's...

Then yesterday Sienna & I met Lisa & Baby Emma at Nottaway Park for a walk. We came across a swing set so the girls shared a swing. It was so cute. Here they are... Sienna's first swing experience! :)

We tried to take a few more pictures of Sienna & Emma together, but Sienna was too interested in grabbing Emma's eyes & nose. Maybe next time... :)

Sittin' Pretty

Aunt Jessie bought this cute outfit for Sienna's 6 Month birthday. (Can people start buying me gifts for my half-birthday too?!) She also her a bow for her hair but it slides off after less than 2 minutes. It's ok, we can try when we have a little more hair :) We love the dress AND the bow - thank you, Aunt Jessie! :)

End Of Summer Fun

So, Sienna is DESPERATELY trying to move on her own. She doesn't have the hang of crawling or walking yet, but gosh she is trying. This month she started eating (slurping?) rice cereal which was a little overwhelming for me. I definitely cried when Daniel brought home the rice cereal and told me it was "time". I sobbed and explained that she is too little to be eating off of a spoon. But, unfortunately for me, her pediatrian agreed. And she liked it...so much that she wanted to hold the bowl and spoon herself...

We are also working on the sippy cup but we usually chew on the sippy part and then drop it on the floor. Here are some pictures of Daddy helping...

We did a little more traveling again this month. We went to "Terra Nova South", my parents cabin on the Eastern Shore. We had a GREAT time. For some reason, I didn't take very many pictures - it might have been because Sienna got her first cold while we were there. She was having difficulty breathing with a stuffed up nose and a pacifer stuffed in her mouth. Anyway, here are two pictures I did manage to take...Amy, Jessie, Sienna & I down by the bay & Jessie & Amy relaxing on a bench by the water.

The thing I am most disappointed about is that I didn't record our game of Cranium. I wish I had a video of our friend Edward acting out the following words during a Charades-style portion game of Cranium: "Titanic", "Princess Diana", "Lava Lamp", and "Bloom". As it turned out, Titanic & Princess Diana were quite similiar in his "charades" and Lava Lamp and Bloom were very similar to each other as well. My stomach honestly ached from laughing so hard....I am actually laughing right now thinking about it. LOL - good times.
