Family Day!

(Sorry for the repeat pictures, Facebook friends!)

Last week it rained FOREVERRRRR. For a stay-at-home Mom, rainy days are the worst. How many puzzles and coloring books can someone do in one day? (You can do A LOT, by the way.) When the sun finally came out, we decided to go for a short family walk in the woods in our backyard. I use the word "walk" loosely since Sienna didn't actually want to walk in the leaves. According to her, the leaves were a "mess." So the princess was carried for most of the time until we reached the street.

I attempted to take a family photo...

Then I tried again.

Daniel to the rescue...

A few of you have been waiting patiently for Halloween pictures and I promise I will post them as soon as possible. My camera ran out of batteries at the last minute so we used my friend's camera to take all the pictures. She hasn't sent me the pictures yet, but I will post them as soon as I get them!!!

Tuesday

Dave's Birthday

When Sienna was about six months old, Dave bought Sienna a "beautiful" (or tacky, depending on how you feel about the sport) Labonte Nascar dress. Kerry, knowing how I feel about Nascar (thus the quotations on the word beautiful above) also bought Sienna a cute sun dress with purple flowers on it to offset this unusual addition to her wardrobe. So, here we are over a year later and finally, the Nascar dress fits - just in time for Dave's birthday. It's a miracle. The family celebrated Dave's birthday at The Counter, and the weather was just perfect enough that Sienna was able to wear a coat over her dress for the majority of the time. Dave noticed the dress on her immediately. Best birthday ever. Here are the birthday boy and Sienna in her birthday present...

I am not saying that Sienna is a genius, but I have to show you what happened when Dave and Kerry were coloring with her on Sunday night. While they were coloring, Dave and Kerry were also were trying to teach Sienna her numbers. So Kerry wrote the numbers 1, 2, and 3 down on Sienna's coloring pad while they said the numbers out loud. When they got to number 4, this is what Sienna drew (in red)...

Is it just me, or does that look like a four? But then again...I think she's perfect, so no matter what, it will always be a four to me.

Thursday

What is wrong with this picture?

I let Sienna help me dress her today. Remember the game, "What is wrong with this picture?"

I'll give you a hint:

Thursday

Bye Bye Booster Chair!

Sienna is really into climbing onto everything these days. Is it a good thing when the people at the church nursery say she is 'like Godzilla" after trying to climb up a (strangely tall) activity table? They also said she should play baseball because she is quite skilled at throwing. I am pretty sure that is code for "your daughter was throwing things at other kids."

So anyway, this afternoon Sienna climbed up on the chairs at the kitchen table and wanted to eat her lunch there. I told her that I was so proud of her and that she was such a big girl now. She assured me that "Mommy is a big girl" too.

Yay.
